Ultimate Essay Competition
The Teen Debater’s Ultimate Essay Battle was an exhilarating showcase of creativity, critical thinking, and writing skills! Students from Grades 9-10 and 11-12 participated in this exciting competition, where they were given three thought-provoking topics to choose from during a one-hour Zoom session. The event saw young minds come together to showcase their talent, with each participant crafting an insightful essay under time pressure. What sets our competition apart is that we treat the essay as an argument rather than a traditional essay, encouraging students to structure their responses persuasively and critically. With expert judges evaluating the submissions based on a structured rubric, the competition was intense and highly competitive.
The topics chosen for the competition were designed to push the boundaries of students' critical thinking and creativity. Each prompt was carefully crafted to spark deep reflection and challenge participants to explore complex issues from multiple perspectives. From debating the ethical implications of new technologies to analyzing the role of education in shaping societal values, the topics provided a platform for students to engage with timely and relevant subjects. This allowed participants not only to showcase their writing abilities but also to demonstrate their capacity for thoughtful argumentation and analysis. By encouraging students to approach the topics as arguments, we aimed to foster a deeper understanding of the issues at hand, while also honing their persuasive writing skills.
The Space Wreck Trial
Final Transmission: The Space Wreck Trial
The Teen Debater’s Final Transmission: The Space Wreck Trial was a one-of-a-kind fusion of storytelling, ethical reasoning, and persuasive debate. Set against a dramatic space survival scenario, this high-stakes event challenged participants to step into the shoes of real-life space icons — from Elon Musk and Michael Foale to Ellen Ochoa and Kalpana Chawla — and argue why their character deserved to be the lone survivor in a spaceship crash with only one parachute.
Hosted on Zoom, the event brought together sharp minds who had to make compelling, emotionally charged cases not just based on logic, but ethics, legacy, and human value. With an AI judge evaluating their arguments and audience votes shaping the outcome, it was more than a debate — it was a moral battlefield.
What set this Teen Debater event apart was its immersive format — blending drama, debate, and decision-making under pressure. Participants had to navigate sabotage, plot twists, and impossible choices in real time. The goal wasn't just to argue well, but to embody the persona of their character and convince everyone in the room — human and AI alike — that they were worth saving.
Final Transmission pushed boundaries like never before. It was intense. It was unpredictable. It was ethical chaos — and an unforgettable experience for everyone involved.
